Scala Osteria offers traditional Southern Italian, seafood-centered recipes meant to be shared with family and friends in our warm and vibrant dining room. Our menu is influenced by the traditional Italian osteria where creating simple yet delicious food is paramount, and our atmosphere is always inviting and full of life. From our beautiful oyster bar to our house-made pastas and Neapolitan style pizzas, we have something for everyone. We offer varying experiences, from folks grabbing a quick bite on their lunch hour, to couples stopping in to delight in our Oyster Bar, to parties spending hours enjoying delicious Southern Italian fare with perfectly paired wines. Sister restaurant to valley favorite, Bistro Don Giovanni, Scala Osteria is located on vibrant First Street in the heart of Downtown Napa. We are open daily for lunch, dinner from 11:30am to 10pm and late night service from 10-11pm.

Scala is our go to choice for solid Italian food. It has a vibrant feel that makes you feel welcomed. The servers are knowledgeable about the food, the ingredients and what wine pairs well! Some may consider it pricey - but the value is there! Here's my one RUB: the built in booths are lovely and comfortable. Sadly the folks sitting in the chairs across from you are about 5 inches below you. So, while you're talking to their hairline, they are talking to your chin. SCALA it's time to replace those sad wicker midget chairs.

This is our 4th time eating here. The food was amazing, as always, the drinks were great, the service was wonderful...it was a great time! Everything is so well done and has amazing flavor.

It’s Napa standard upheld for sure. Did not disappoint. Right on first street very lively ambience. Pizza was excellent , our fav Neapolitan style. Great wine menu, of course. Love the decor.

Wonderful light dinner. I highly recommend the warm octopus salad. Pizzas are shareable size and delicious. Service was tops.

Great food, very very nice staff and lovely area. It was pricey but the food was delicious and the service was amazing! Will definitely come back. We enjoyed our time and food.

Scala is one of the few restaurants in downtown Napa that is always bustling seven days a week and the only place to have a proper meal after 8:30pm downtown on a winter Tuesday night. They have the menu dialed, and nice little bar, high ceilings and a great vibe.

When we checked in with hostess she said, Whose birthday is it? Once seated the staff brought to the table a lovely handwritten birthday card. Though we chose not to order dessert they brought an irresistible vanilla ice cream with lit candle to complete my celebration. Service was impeccable. The waiter was able to say “yes” to each request. The halibut upon a bed of lentil and carrot was divine. They offered a “house wine” that was red, a Cabernet Sauvignon. It was excellent. This restaurant has their act together. No wonder almost every seat was filled.
