We really enjoyed our first time at Scampi. We know they are new and working on a big transition from 6 diners to ~24. All of the food was excellent (minus one under-seasoned addition that wasn't on the menu), and the storytelling was a wonderful and lively addition to each course. However, the service was very slow. Their single server had to leave within minutes of the seating to go to the store to get something for the kitchen, and we were left without the ability to even ask for an ice bucket for our bottle of white wine. We proceeded to get very tipsy trying to drink it before it got warm, because the first course from the menu was not delivered until 40 minutes after we had been seated. From there the food was coursed pretty well, but again the one server was so busy cleaning up plates all the time that they never asked us if needed anything, how we were finding the food, etc. I hope that with time and more revenue they have the chance to smooth out the service, because when they do this place is gonna be rockin!!

My partner and I went to Scampi on its second night open, and it did not disappoint! Chef Liz and her team were incredible, and I really appreciated the time that she took to explain each course and to get to know the guests. All of the food was fantastic - I think our favorite was the scampi scampi shrimp dish! I will definitely be back again in the future. Congrats on your opening, Liz!

An unforgettable experience. Amazing food and fantastic food story-telling. IMO Scampi will follow in the uniquely incredible niche that Her Place opened up that’s allowed them to soar in the Philly restaurant scene ever since. Much like Her Place before, Scampi is a dinner party/ story focused food experience that punches WAY above its weight class. We’ll be back!
