The SCHOFIELD'S BAR story
With over 25 years of experience collectively, bartender brothers Joe and Daniel Schofield always had a vision to return to their home city of Manchester to open their eponymous venue;
SCHOFIELD’S BAR.

SCHOFIELD’S BAR graces the corner of Sunlight House, one of the most iconic buildings in the north of England.

The art deco masterpiece of architect Joseph Sunlight was the tallest building in Manchester upon completion during the 1930s, a decade of great importance for cocktail culture. An era of grand and luxurious bars, known for their hospitality and classic cocktails.

Please note that we are only able to accept a handful of reservations each day as we are a walk-in led venue so please do not be put off visiting us if you are unable to reserve. All reservations are only guaranteed 2 hours at the table.

It’s a great bar. The cocktails are different and interesting. The staff are all knowledgeable, amiable and approachable. The ambience is that of a dark, vibrant haven for those seeking an oasis of sophistication with great music and none of the usual rowdiness the centre of Manchester offers. Make sure to book. It’s not impossible, but you’re unlikely to get in as a walk-up.

Been to many bars, worked in a few, but this place was my best experience in a while. We got attention from begining to the end, service is 10/10. Cocktails we’re balanced, absolutely delicious. They serve draught Guinness, nice finish for our visit. Peek of bar craftmanship!

What a great place. Lovely welcome. Attentive service, but not overly so. Fabulous selection of cocktails plus inventions not on the list. The food is enough to keep you going and the atmosphere is just right. A great place to celebrate our anniversary and two glasses of bubbly as a house treat. What’s not to like?

Amazing amazing bar staff - from door man to service inside -I was celebrating a surprise birthday for my son - having travelled for 5 hours up to Manchester and the staff “played along “ with the surprise graciously and effortlessly- huge thank you to everyone! Highly recommended, gorgeous and special venue!

Excellent efficient service, great cocktails, it was our first visit there, would advise booking especially on a Friday afternoon/evening. We will be back again when we are next in the city to try a few more cocktails!
