Founded in 1965, Scoma's Seafood Restaurant is located in the heart of San Francisco's Fisherman's Wharf. Family-owned for three generations, our iconic waterfront restaurant is famous for serving the freshest seafood from pier-to-plate. An award-winning bar program includes an extensive wine list, local microbrews, and expertly crafted cocktails. For nearly 60 years, locals, visitors, politicians, athletes, actors, signers, and heads of state have been frequenting Scoma's for its old-school hospitality, delicious seafood, spectacular views, and impeccable cocktails. Located on a working pier, Scoma's has its own fish receiving station, dealing directly with local fishers for 100% sustainable seafood.

    I did so much research online for this trip to San Francisco. Nothing else measured up to the reviews I found. Scoma's, on the other hand, surpassed everything I had read before eating there. Service was more personable than expected, food was great. Our reservation was honored and we basically walked right in. No wait. Wonderful experience. Wish we would have eaten there every night.

    We have eaten at Scoma’s Sausalito many times. We were disappointed in the food at the SF Wharf location. The snapper was overcooked and dry . The side, Spaetzel was just odd. The beet salad was very good as were the oysters.

    We absolutely love Scoma’s! Whenever we visit San Francisco it’s a place we have to hit! We went twice in this trip! We love the retro vibe, music, dress of the waiters, etc. delicious food!!!!!

    Scoma's was excellent from start to finish! Everything from ambiance, food, drinks and service were awesome. Live in SF and can't believe we didn't try Scoma's sooner, looking forward to going back again soon.

    Overall good experience. Something was amiss. It seemed like something negative was going on back in the kitchen. Some of the waitstaff was more stressed than usual. A waiter bumped into me and just kept going, no excuse me, or apology. No big deal, as long as we had a good experience which we did. Our waiter was good but he seemed not 100 percent .

    We happened to be dining during the SF restaurant week. Chose the menu and every dish was excellent. A classic environment very SF. We enjoyed and I would come back.

    Hard to call Scoma’s an “under appreciated gem,” given its history. But in a weird way, with so much of Fisherman’s Wharf reduced to a parody of touristy schlock, it stands alone as a paragon of quality seafood, ambience and velvet-glove service. Cannot help but feel bad for tourists who flock to the Wharf and never even see, let alone experience, the magic. (Other locals might not feel so bad, but as a native of The City, I want people to know that it isn’t the vulgar stereotype some insist on perpetrating.)
