Scotthill Caribbean Cuisine was a dream that became reality. The name “Scotthill” was inspired by a street in Moneague, St. Ann, Jamaica where meals made with love all began. A family-operated restaurant, Scotthill offers great Caribbean cuisine in an upscale atmosphere. Our friendly staff includes two creative chefs with over 40 years’ experience. Together they create delicious, beautifully plated meals.

With complimentary soup and warm service, the main event is the well seasoned delicious food. Portion sizes were generous.

Our party of 6 celebrated both our son’s 25th birthday and Mother’s Day for my wife. We were all excited to try Scotthill as Jamaican food was a favourite of the birthday boy and the food reviews we read were all good. It is a small restaurant and has little room for guests to wait for their tables and unfortunately it was raining outside. Once we got our table we ordered fairly quickly having read that food was served fairly slowly from time of order. Curried Roti, BBQ Jerk Chicken dinner with rice, plantain and Channa were the favourite orders along with refreshing Ginger Beer. An excellent bowl of chicken soup was provided complimentary due to the wait. As expected the main courses took about an hour to be served. So if you’re one to be impatient with speed of food service, you should be warned. The food itself was very good. The curried chicken Roti was the favourite of the meals served. Quite excellent. The BBQ jerk chicken was also quite good. The only downside was the many small bones one had to be careful of in eating the chicken. The Channa was very tasty and a good dish to share. The plantain was enjoyable, tasting somewhat like a potato textured less sweet banana. We enjoyed our meals and would return for the food. We would go thinking this would be a minimum 2 hour dining experience and be in no hurry!

The food is delicious even my young children love the food. Every meal did not disappoint. The service is courteous but pack your patience-we waited an unbelievably long time for our food, and our drinks for that matter. They are understaffed and the kitchen seems to be catering to a lot of takeout orders so we were left sitting there for a looong time. Despite the wait, would go back but not for a while. We’ve been a few times and always a wait to get food but this time was a bit ridiculous.

Portions are generous. Food was delicious. Service was a bit slow but nothing crazy. Washrooms are down a set of stairs so not recommended if someone in your party has mobility issues.

To sum things up quickly - great food but the service was SLOW! I don't want to mention how long it took for my mother to get a cup of coffee. I would go back but would recommend take out given how slow it was.

My first visit to Scotthill Caribbean Cuisine found on #BlogTO. I brought a group of friends (some from Montreal and Ottawa). We all enjoyed our meals - #currygoat #brownstewsnapper #oxtailstew; the service was good. I definitely would visit again. There's a live reggae band (Friday and Saturday). The older folks thought the music was too loud for such a small space but overall it was lively and a lot of fun.

We had a most delicious meal. We started with beef patties that were good. We had the bbq and regular jerk chicken for our mains and both were juicy and full of flavour. My only complaints as that the mains could have been heated up more.

Jamaican food at its finest. Full of flavour and the right amount of heat. Kids can eat and not be overwhelmed by spice. Red Stripe beer of course!
