Walk-in's always welcome! Screen Door is a restaurant that presents itself as a love letter to the American South and the revival of regional cooking. Each day, the restaurant receives natural, local organic meats and produce from nearby vendors. The inclusion of regional Pacific Northwest ingredients into a menu of dishes developed in the south has created a unique flavor profile in Screen Door's menu. Many of Screen Doors dishes draw their inspiration from Louisiana and the Cajun cooking that's found there. These include our world-famous fried chicken, Lowcountry shrimp and grits, smoked andouille chicken gumbo and fried okra. Other items, like the house-smoked beef brisket and braised pork shoulder, come straight from the state of Texas. The rest of the South is well represented as well with a Carolina pulled pork sandwich, chicken and waffles, crispy fried oysters and a pimiento cheese & sausage biscuit sandwich with a fried egg and cheddar grits.

Pan roasted Kauai Shrimp w/ Anson Mills Benne Seed Panisse, pimiento aioli, salsa verde, smoked trout roe $19 Crispy Duck Confit w/ blood orange Marchand de vin, roasted fingerlings, Swiss chard, citrus, fuchsia sprouts $33 Seared Scallops w/ fried cauliflower purée, caramelized chicory, Edward’s Surryano Country ham, caper-raisin relish, brown butter $36 All of your Screen Door favorites will be available also. Awesome dining experience! The restaurant was PACKED for a Sunday at 5 PM, but we were seated before our reservation time and the service was excellent. The food and drinks were amazing—huge portions—and the flavors were out of this world. Our server, Selwyn, was absolutely delightful. He got a 20-top just as we were being seated in an already very full section, but he treated us like his only table. Save room for dessert!

This is my favorite place to eat at anytime we are in Portland! I love the atmosphere of the pearl district location! We come here very often and always can’t wait to go back. My favorite is their chicken and dumplings. It’s so flavorful and warms your soul. My husband’s favorite is the chicken and waffles, so much flavor in the chicken and with a sweet potato waffle it just comes together so well. You won’t regret eating here!

We were celebrating our daughter’s 21st birthday and the staff made her feel so special. The food was amazing! Can’t beat those chicken and waffles. And we had the cafe au lait cheesecake…best cheesecake I’ve had in ages! Our server was so sweet and attentive. Can’t wait to go back.

We were greeted quickly upon arrival and taken to our table right away. Our server, Julie was fun and positive. Our food was delicious as always. We would recommend making a reservation as it gets filled up quickly.
