SER is the winner of the Ballston Business Improvement District's 2014 Restaurant Challenge. It is an authentic Spanish tavern or “food house” with a casual, hipster vibe. But, take note…it’s not a tapas restaurant. It’s a gastronomical journey and cultural adventure throughout every region of Spain. It’s an easy-going gathering spot where guests can enjoy typical comfort foods and beverages from Spain at any time of the day or night. The team at SER are your foodie friends from Spain who have a mean kitchen, sharp cooking skills, and comfortable house where you hang out until the wee hours of the night.

SER Restaurant is a highly acclaimed establishment recognized for its exceptional dining experience. It has been featured in the Washingtonian's Best 100 Restaurants list in 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2023. Additionally, it has consistently ranked among the Top 50 Best Restaurants in Northern Virginia from 2020 to 2024 and is celebrated as one of the top restaurants in Arlington.

Excellent NYE party. Besides the main menu, the New Year’s Eve special menu had a variety of entrees and main course to choose. Loved the Spanish tradition of the 12 grapes with a glass of sparkling wine to ring the New Year, which was on the house! Full bar and very good wine menu. I give 5 stars to this family neighborhood restaurant.

I believe this is the best restaurant in Arlington. Always fresh ingredients and fabulous flavors. The Rockfish for Two was a standout.

Highly recommended especially for groups of 6-8. They do a great job! Better range of options and better food quality / innovation than typical ‘tapas’ restaurants.

Ser is so comfortable and inviting. The sangria is the best I have ever had. The appetizers are excellent. We had squid calamari. Bread was excellent as well. We had paella for two and it was flavored spectacularly. We had Flan and Churros for dessert. Both were excellent. The service (our server was Walter) was top notch. Highly recommend this restaurant.
