Serafina is a little gem of a restaurant, perched on top of Nob Hill, with views overlooking the city and Bay Bridge. Serafina was owner Maurizio Bruschi’s grandmother, and the name of her eponymous restaurant in the heart of Trastevere (Rome), where Maurizio first began making pizza at the age of 14. The executive chef is Umberto Cannarsa, a successful chef from Rome, who left his own restaurant in Rome to work with Maurizio again. The menu offers everything, including vegetarian options, but specializes in innovative Italian fish dishes, including fresh calamari, stuffed with olives, escarole, anchovies, drizzled with a potato leek sauce, as well as homemade pastas and dolci. The space is warm and elegant, where neighbors and friends can come together.

    We had dinner at Serafina on NYE and it was our first time dining here. What a neighborhood gem! It is tiny and the tables are inches from one another, but it only added to the intimacy of the experience. The servers were all Italian, service was attentive, and the food was excellent. Prices were reasonable. I would recommend Serafina.

    We had a lovely date night at Serafina! It's a tight space when you walk in, but it was lively and warm. We waited outside for our table to be ready and enjoyed the views. The food was delicious, we had their special salad and special pasta, and the eggplant parm. The service was attentive and friendly. We'll be back!

    The food and service were both outstanding! There is a beautiful view just outside the restaurant. We had a wonderful experience and will definitely return.

    My wife and I celebrated our Anniversary here a few days ago. It was our first visit, and we truly enjoyed it. Food was great, service attentive and the vibe local and friendly.

    Our family of 8 came to Serafina for a wonderful experience— and we got one! The food was fabulous. My grandson said it was the best lasagna he’d ever had. And the desserts were amazing. The service matched the food. Very attentive and fun! We highly recommend Serafina.

    Intimate neighborhood restaurant. Beautifully decorated. Excellent value. Friendly and competent service. The owner is actively on-site. I will return again. Discovered the restaurant through the owner’s brother who has Piccolo Forno on Columbus Ave. Another superb restaurant.

    Our waiter was a bit cold and not too friendly or attentive. Took us awhile to warm him up. Otherwise enjoyed the coziness of the restaurant and the food.

    This experience took me back to Italy with how intimate it is. The owner was extremely lovely to us and shared so many of his stories from his days in Capri. Will come back!
