Our experience started off well but went south midway.
We were greeted kindly and given an option for seating. We were only the 2nd table to be there.
The first couple of courses came out. The food was amazing! The service was great, until the restaurant got busy. Then I'm not sure what happened to the service.
Between our 2nd and 3rd course, we waited 40 minutes. The server asked us once regarding what point of the menu we were up to. We mentioned 'the beef'. But we still waited another 30 minutes until the next course came out. And the next course was actually skipped, and we were given the duck instead (the mains) before the beef. Nobody once came to ask if we'd like our wine topped up instead. And no one communicated any delay or switching of the meals. That was very poor service.
When the beef finally came out, the server said "I don't know there must have been some confusion and we skipped over the beef, but here it is."
That was bizarre as he had acknowledged what course we were up to when we were asked.
After all that, the courses started coming out all too quickly. As though we were being rushed.
Another server took our dirty cutlery away and said she would replace it. She never came back. So we asked for cutlery, but only got spoons and no plates.
So the service was terrible once the restaurant got busy.
The food was very good, we really enjoyed it. But it's not worth it when servers aren't paying attention to massive delays and even worse, are then lying about it.
The chef here is great and I hope they can buck up their service to match the level of food they're offering.
