Shirley’s Restaurant & Bar offers warm hospitality and the region's flavorful bounty.                   Almost everything was perfect. The food was delicious (I ordered the chicken, which as tender and deliciously seasoned). This is the most elegant dining venue south of the Hotel Jefferson in Richmond. The only shortcoming came at the end of the meal, when the server took an inordinate amount of time to bring desert.

                  The chicken entree is delicious. We shared that with the brussel sprouts side which was a bit different (potatoes and raisins mixed in) and also delicious. Appetizers (wedge salad and fried green tomatoes) were so-so. Too much iceberg lettuce for the salad. Service may be spotty, but the team is clearly trying hard. The manager stopped by and talked for a while which was nice and personable. The restaurant was full which was nice to see (particularly with the snow forecast). Hoping for the best for Shirleys!

                  A beautiful atmosphere, food was very tasty, seamed a long wait between ordering & delivery be it food or drink, some of our parties meal was cool like it was not under warming lights as the remainder of our party meal were being finished prior to being served. I believe these are opening jetters / mistakes that will be worked out with more service under their belt. We will return at a later time to prove this.

                  It was a wonderful relaxing evening in beautiful surroundings. My food was delicious. The staff was courteous . The service was a little slow but it was New Years Eve and we were in no hurry. I would highly recommend Shirley’s.

                  Lunch at The Hotel Petersburg was very nice. The space was attractive and nicely restored. The food was excellent. Staff members were pleasant, but the restaurant appeared to be understaffed so service was a bit slow. Overall, a very nice experience and would recommend.

                  Beautiful space, lovely tableware, linen napkins and well dressed servers. Meals were pleasantly presented. Great overall vibe.
