When we arrived we were hit by the aromatic, mouthwatering smells of the restaurant.
We arrived 15 minutes earlier than planned and the staff were very accommodating, there was a little confusion to where we were sitting, first we were told our table was upstairs then when we went upstairs we were told it was downstairs. The staff were very apologetic.
The table we received was comfortable and adequately spaced from other tables. There was a chilly draft however when ever the restaurant doors were opened.
We order the fried crab Bao, Char kway teow and the nasi lemak ayam goreng.
Fried crab Bao: so delicious! Never experienced fried Bao, it worked very well. The bao itself had a wonder crispy exterior and beautiful chew to it. The filling was scrumptious and well seasoned.
Char kway teow: The Char kway teow was a little disappointing, the Prawns were good, the chinese sausage so-so, noodles were good and had a nice chew to them. However the dish was heavily salted with perhaps too much dark Soy sauce.
Nasi lemak ayam goreng: The highlight of the show! The chicken was coated in the most delicately crispy, well seasoned batter, and most importantly the chicken was done to perfection, not dry at all! The combination of the chicken, sambal, peanuts, anchovies, rice and the running fried egg with a crispy outside ring will be something I won't forget for awhile.
The waiter that served us - I believe his name was Han. Han Was great at his job, always with a smile on his face, very welcoming, and regularly checked on our wellness.
I'll definitely recommend this place if you're craving Malay food. I'll be coming back for sure!
