After getting a confirmation of our booking we arrived after a two hour drive to find it boarded up. It had obviously been closed for some time. This was very upsetting as we had taken my 90 year old Aunt out from her care home for lunch.

Very disappointed, my family travelled up from London to meet me. I had made a table booking earlier in the week. When we arrived I was told the kitchen was not open! Why wasn't I notified beforehand? Needless to say we won't be booking again

The food was very basic and unappealing. The roast dinner the worst we have had for a long time. The food was warm with gravy poured over for quickness !

We booked a table for Sunday, unfortunately the new owners hadn’t been in long so their booking system was down and didn’t show our booking. It was ok, as they had tables spare but sadly no Sunday menu - only a limited one. Was disappointed but the food was still absolutely lovely, really good quality but portion sizes could have been bigger for the price. That being said, the staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful. The ambiance was lovely and the overall experience was good and we will definitely return when they have established their full menu!

The reason I am giving such a poor review is that their/or your website allowed me to book a table and when I arrived it was closed! There was no notice on the door to explain why. I looked inside through the windows and the place looked really empty. I booked for 6.30 and there was an earlier booking available for 6.15 so I was not too early, i.e. before they were supposed to be open. I think this is pretty poor service!

We booked a table for a Tuesday night and it got confirmed etc. so we turned up to all the doors being locked and couldn’t get in. We sat in the car and phoned the pub no answer. So they were obviously shut but there was no indication of this and the website said open (hence why I booked) and it still let me book a table even though it was shut! We looked on all social media and nothing said closed.. we were very disappointed and had to quickly go elsewhere luckily a pub down the road saved us…

Had a lovely time for Saturday lunch, fantastic food at a very reasonable price, service was great, wouldn't change anything. We hope to return soon.
