My experience at Sixty Wines was bittersweet. It all started poorly with the wines: the first one, a Mary Taylors Castilla y León, was undrinkable. When I told the server, she kindly suggested three more options. To my surprise, each one was worse than the last. Despite being the most expensive on the menu, they all tasted harsh, metallic, and unpleasant. I later discovered the wines were not served directly from the bottle but came from metallic barrels, which likely impacted their quality.
I decided to switch gears and ordered a simple Pinot Grigio to avoid further disappointment, which was at least drinkable. However, what truly redeemed the experience was the food: excellent in every way. The dishes were well-presented, plentiful, flavorful, and reasonably priced.
The service also stood out. Despite my dissatisfaction with the wines, the server never stopped smiling and went out of her way to offer alternatives, though none of them worked for me.
The ambiance and interior design of the restaurant are delightful, but for a place called Sixty Wines, the quality of the wine should be a top priority, and unfortunately, it fell short.
