DINE ABOVE BANFF Anchored at over 2,200 meters above sea level, the Banff Gondola’s Sky Bistro sits on the summit of Sulphur Mountain. With six Rocky Mountain ranges as a backdrop, this remarkable restaurant promises an exhilarating gondola ride followed by a mountain top dining experience. Lunch and dinner menus celebrate the panorama of Canadian cuisine, with ingredients drawn from both ocean coasts, plus wholesome prairie staples including world-renowned Alberta beef. Complemented by local wine, beer and spirits, it makes for a unique dining experience above Banff.

    Honestly, one of the greatest dining experiences of my life. A Top 10 moment, worldwide. Made the reservation for just after sunset, so caught the full sunset and alpenglow up on the Observation Deck, while the most tranquil music played. Then enjoyed the Bison, Octopus, their smoky Old Fashioned’s and a beautiful glass of Spanish Red Wine from 2018. We were served by Connor and the entire night was close to perfection, down to the very last bite of Bison - which I tried to take as much time with as possible. Incredible way to kick off the trip.

    Magnificent views, excellent service and good food but a little pricey. Recommended 100% for lunch.

    The first two courses had very little flavor. The main course of beef with the bone removed however was very favorable . The service provided was impecable. The overall adventure was spectacular.

    Outstanding view. Surprised how delicious all the food was, was expecting just the view. We had duck, pork chops and short ribs. Also salad and soup. All top notch. Our server was engaging and fun. Our cocktails, Old Fashions.. great smoke presentation and margaritas yummy. Highly recommend. Also great place to watch sunset. And very cool nighttime light show right outside the restaurant.

    A great experience. Make sure you book in advance to get the good tables at the windows, especially around sunset! Food and service were excellent, view is of course stunning.

    Wow this has amazing views! We ate around 5-6pm which was perfect as the sun was just setting, the views were great. Food was nice, drinks great, it was our most expensive meal of our trip but the views made up for this!

    imaginative and well done food the french fries are outstanding. We love them. Service was uneven nice person but NEW and left us alone too much. The view is amazing and it’s well worth the trip even if you don’t have lunch, but the lunch is worth it too, so I would definitely suggest go and try the cocktails of the day or the mock cocktails of the day.

    It is an absolute joy to eat at this restaurant! The service was impeccable! And the food is Devine! The view was spectacular! Taking our family there was magical and I can not wait to go back! Sunset and a lovely meal was delightful!
