I pre booked a Christmas meal for my family with 18 guests on a Wednesday evening. Firstly, I would like to point out our complaint is not with the young lady waiting on that evening as she did her best considering it was her first night and on her own. The pubs poor and lack of management for preparing for the evening resulted in our actual meals and experience being poorly executed.
Considering all our meals were pre ordered and the pub not being overly busy we were annoyed the meals came out slowly and disjointed with long waits in between some of our party getting their meals. Some guests' meals were served with just part of the meal therefore left waiting quite a while before the rest of their meal was served. The quality of most of their meals was questionable with food being tough and overcooked or bits missing.. We made sure we mentioned the problems at the time to the girl serving us, to which she tried her best to resolve.
For a party of 18 for a pre booked/ordered Christmas meal I would have expected at least 2 staff serving our table and the chef to know exactly what we had ordered and be familiar with the menu. My sister went to find the manager to make them aware of our concerns and she was told they would discount our bill accordingly. When I went to the bar to sort out and pay the bill the manager had yet to put all our food order on the system which I found unprofessional considering the pub already had the order over a week before. We didn't have confusion of adding drinks to the bill as we all paid for our drinks at the bar throughout the evening. Therefore, it should have been a simple task of paying for the overall food bill with the discount.
Due to the confusion and delay of waiting for the bill to be sorted and then having to remind the manager after I'd paid that she hadn't taken off my pre paid deposit , I forgot to mention the discount she had agreed with my sister. So we didn't end up having any discount.
Slow & Easy已於2025年1月7日回覆Many thanks for your review. Our normal waitress called in sick suddenly due to being sick on her way to work and a stand in waitress helped out for the evening. As you can imagine a large table on a stand in shift is not ideal but an hour before you were due to arrive we had no alternative. The manager on duty actually had a fall when your party were dining and broke her ankle. She was sitting near to the toilets awaiting an ambulance, we did advise the party of this and apologised. Your bill would of been ready for payment if this hadnt of happened. Another manager came in suddenly to try and help out and obviously walked into problems and a staff accident. A discount of cash has been given to your party and I dont understand why you say you havent received anything.
