Slug & Lettuce Aldgate, is one of the newest city venues with sleek and sophisticated interior. A lively and friendly atmosphere; with modern and stylish dining areas, fantastic birdcage booths and large semi private areas - perfect to book for that special event. There is something for everyone with great deals on food and drinks throughout the week.

Flooded with natural daylight, the space is light and airy during the day, a perfect setting for a business meeting, breakfast or spot of lunch. By night the venue dominates the area with its passion for cocktail making and resident DJ that plays every Thursday and Friday night in the Abbey Vaults downstairs.     Abbey bar was really quiet on a Fri evening...which is very surprising considering it's Aldgate location. There were hardly one or two tables occupied...better to give a miss.

    Generally unattentive staff with seemingly little training. Hadn't tried the menu when asked. Some starters didn't arrive. Food was slow despite half empty restaurant. Price was the saving grace.

    Food was good. We had a three-course Christmas menu for £19 each with a free glass of presseco so thought the value was good. Service was very poor considering it was just two of us. Waited almost an hour between starter and main course and it wasn't even busy. Plus we had pre-ordered a couple of days before which we thought was the whole idea of not having to wait.
