    Amazing food, we really enjoyed everything we ordered. The dessert in particular was absolutely delicious (chocolate tart with artichoke ice cream). The only downside was the noise level (the music was a bit too loud for a comfortable conversation).

    I had been meaning to come to Smith & Daughters for ages... and it was worth the wait. So tasty and our server, Travis, was very helpful. It was a joy and I can't wait to go back. My favourite dishes were the "chicken" with greens and the arancini balls.

    Food was super average. Had no taste. Was not happy paying $99 per person for a set menu for what we got. The first plate of the bread and spread was the best one. Service and drinks were good. I wouldn’t go back again.

    I used to LOVE going to the old venue! SO hot & sexy. The menu was full of hearty, generous, tasy options. My bestie & i flew down from Sydney & had seen this new opening on IG. We were excited to go & return. We arrived on time but the table wasnt ready & were asked to wait outside in the cold! There is no space or bar inside to wait at! We waited 10 mins then were seated & ordered mocktails, which took a while to arrive. We were waiting on our friend whos flight was delayed but were starving & werent given our entree until she arrived 20mins later. We got our entree (which was delicious), but waited another 45mins for our next course! We were SO tired & starving by this point & trying to be patient but quite disappointed seeing we had been looking forward to this for months & always loved the old venue. The wait staff were lovely, kind & helpful but i had to go find one a few times to see if we could get a menu / our drinks / next course. They apologised, said there was a party upstairs & hence the delay. And brought all our remaining meals out at once. The food was nice but not what i missed from the old venue. And for the price, considering 3 of us paid $95, I was disappointed at the portion of dessert. Id prefer a menu where you can control choice & portions ordered. We each got one spoon of tiramisu! The lovely waiter brought us more mocktails on the house to apologise but at this point it was all just a bit disappointing. I dont think we will be coming back unfortunately. The atmosphere isnt as rock n roll as it used to be & it just felt like a disappointing experience all around.

    Fab night out. Service was attentive, friendly & efficient. All the share plates were terrific and the staff happy to deal with re-ordering and additional orders. Not a big drinker, but the wine list was varied and had plenty of choices. Overall had a great feel to it, loved the vibe of the place with the kitchen now as the centrepiece. Highly recommended!

    We chose Smith and Daughters to take interstate guests as we wanted them to experience Melbourne ‘cool’. The space showcases industrial glamour mixed with antique sophisticate. Food glorious, in particular the oyster mushrooms and kale salad and so generous we hardly could fit in the famous Tiramisu dessert. Our guests commented on the staff who were super friendly, knowledgeable, diverse and showcase Melbourne as the amazing place that we love.

    Loved the new venue and the service was impeccable. Food was amazing too but probably too much and would have loved choice to order from a la carte menu rather than only 4 course set menu. Will def be back mid week to try a la cart menu.
