Join us for an exceptional riverfront dining experience, located in the heart of downtown Reno, at our newly remodeled location, Smith and River. Dine on the patio and enjoy the river views with a specialty cocktail, or inside in our open bar seating area, booth seating for a more private dining experience, or our large party dining options. Book our Chefs Table for a special dining experience. Our food is always fresh, thoughtfully sourced and always creative. Our service is attentive and caring. We dined here on New Year's Eve with a reservation. We checked in about 5 min before our actual reservation time and we're seated about 10 min after our reservation time. Service was lacking as we had to constantly track our server down to get water refills. After ordering our prie fixe menu options food trickled out to us and we had to remind the server who ordered what as he did not remember. The food was pretty good and tasty, but I was disappointed with the lobster bisque as it did not have actual lobster in it and tasted similar to a creamy tomato soup. I did enjoy the filet and lobster, and they were cooked to perfection. I did have some lobster shell still attached to my lobster which was not appealing in my mouth. To finish the meal they ran out of our dessert choice and they were not very understanding of how disappointing that was for having a prie fixe menu. You would think that they would have enough to satisfy the amount of reservations they had for the night. Overall it was a good meal, but the service left something to be desired. I would done here again but not during a holiday service.

Was there for the special New Years Eve menu. Wasn’t aware that was what we’d be having and had been thinking we would have the regular menu choices. But this was a very nice surprise as the food was excellent, even though there were only a few choices. We had the crab cake appetizer which was excellent. The salad was amazing and the entree I had was the lobster and 6oz filet. Really good stuff. Our waiter, Stan, was attentive without being a pest and was very helpful. Overall, for being our first time visiting, I’ve were very impressed.

Smith and River is our go to nice date night and celebratory dinner spot! The service is always exceptional and the food matches! I had the table side cacio e pepe last night and what an experience that was. My husband had the chefs cut and it was a 12oz new York strip cooked to perfection with the most succulent mashed potatoes! We loved our server and everyone we interacted with at the restaurant is so sweet and welcoming.

Very lovely restaurant and great food. Service was awesome. Validating parking is a major plus. Complimentary glass of Prosecco was a nice touch. The only down side was that the music was loud so people talking was loud. I think all restaurants do that now. We will be back.

We love coming here before the theater and taking guests visiting from out of town. The menu never disappoints. The cocktail menu is just as great. It was definitely busy with the theater and there were only a couple servers, one bartender, chef and team, and front of house. But everyone was chipping in and helping to bring food out and clear plates. It was great to see the teamwork happening. We were kind of bummed that we couldn’t get the hummus appetizer due to the pizza oven not working properly, but these things happen. Overall, it was another great experience. We look forward to returning.
