Socarrat Paella Bar - Chelsea is now accepting reservations for outdoor dining, weather permitting. In the case where we need to close due to inclement weather, we will contact you the day of your reservation.

Socarrat, the quintessence of the perfect paella and for which the restaurant is named, is the delectable, sensuous crust that forms on the bottom of the paella pan when the liquid is rendered and the rice reaches its peak of succulence. The menu, an authentic array of delicious dishes from the regions of Spain specializing in traditional tapas with an accent on paella and fideua (which substitutes fried noodles for rice) that can be characterized as a true exploration for the palette.

Socarrat Paella Bar Chelsea's ambiance denotes feelings of warmth, comfort and hospitality. A neighborhood staple with a small, intimate space comprised primarily of one large communal table with bar and smaller communal tables available.

Our visit to Socarrat Paella was truly exceptional. Milly, the host, set the tone for the evening with her warm and attentive demeanor—her attention to detail really makes a difference. Ricardo, our waiter, provided superb service, ensuring we had everything we needed throughout the meal. And the food? Absolutely fantastic! Every dish was flavorful and prepared to perfection. If you’re looking for an unforgettable dining experience with excellent service and outstanding cuisine, Socarrat Paella is the place to be. Highly recommend!

I’ve been going to this restaurant since they first opened, and I was really impressed at the high quality of the food and service. You don’t always expect restaurants to maintain their level, but this one has and in some ways has even improved.

We are at Soccarat for dinner on Thanksgiving Day. Initially we were told that only the holiday special menu was available, which was paella made with turkey. My husband was totally “over” turkey, so the restaurant was very accommodating in allowing us to order from the regular menu. We had an order of the grilled octupus followed by the seafood paella. The food was outstanding and the staff was friendly, attentive, and very thorough. I highly recommend Soccarat when you crave tapas, paella, and other flavors of Spain!

Great dining before curtain ay THe Joyce Theater. Chef never disappoints and the staff are always attentive, curtious and helpful. Highly recommended!!

The food was delicious - especially the two seafood paellas and the Brussels sprouts tapa. Desserts were really good too. Wait staff was lovely too.
