With over 20 years of experience in the kitchen, Nicholas McCann, now Executive Chef of Society Cafe, has always been passionate about food. Drawing inspiration from his family recipes, Nicholas quickly fell in love with the culinary world at a young age and began his career at The French Culinary Institute in NYC. Since then, he has worked with some of the city’s most acclaimed chefs and restaurants, including working alongside Chef Luis Bollo of Salinas before moving on to become an Executive Chef at TESSA, The Milling Room, and Corkbuzz.

At Society Cafe, Chef Nicholas flexes his creativity by bringing a fresh perspective to the restaurant’s ‘market-to-table’ concept. With a rotating seasonal menu reflective of the city’s local farmers and markets, guests can expect to experience Chef Nicholas’ unique culinary creations alongside its intimate & classic art deco inspired space.

Lovely vibe and food is excellent. But, portions are very small. Services was rude and rushed us out despite having many open tables. Had she offered us a coffee and a space to sit in the lobby- all would be fine. However there was no attempt to be kind and no reason to rush is.

Hi Katherine, We admit that this is a rough review to read for our management team, but there is clearly a lot of useful information here for us to follow up on. While we may need to communicate that tables are needed and there are other things we may or may not be able to do, we can always be friendly. Brunch menu offers lots of nice choices. Our foursome had pancakes, omelets , and bagel with smoked salmon. All very good. Although the room was crowded with noisy groups, we were not rushed & appreciated that.

Hi Virginia! Thank you for your review and thank you so much for noticing that we try not to rush anyone's experience even when we are quite busy. If you like our Brunch but want an experience with a few less people in the room we recommend giving our Friday Brunch a chance! Your group had a pretty good range of what our Brunch has to offer, and are so glad to hear that everything was tasty. We hope that you are able to join us again!

First time here and will come back. Charming room with skylight. Delicious brunch menu with lots of variety.

Long day of shows, booked the hotel restaurant because we were tired. Figured if we get the pizza it would be fine. After we got a good look at the menu, instead we had full main. Halibut for my wife and NY strip for me. Both were executed perfectly. My wife’s halibut was just perfect with that crispy skin you get when it’s perfect. Look we are from New Orleans so we know when fish is cooked well and a beure blanc is right. Our French ancestors were using that sauce before there was a USA. The steak was spot on medium rare with a tasty basque cider garlic sauce. Great job!!

We’ve been here numerous times - it’s always reliable and consistent. We recently came for a birthday celebration. The space was beautifully decorated for the holidays. It was cozy and warm (it was the coldest day of the season). Service and food were excellent. The noise was perfect for conversations. A few of us decided to have hot toddy bc it was so cold - they were delicious. We shared most of the appetizers and we had chicken, steak, and fish across the entres - all were delicious. A great evening.
