From shore to soil, provenance is paramount in producing a menu full of show-stopping dishes such as the Captain’s Seafood Platter; a two-tier shared tower of grilled Irish lobster and steamed Roaring water Bay mussels, plus fresh oysters, prawns and Howth smoked Irish salmon, served with Guinness brown soda bread and traditional seafood accompaniments and sauces; or the Sole Meunière; a whole Dover sole, which is filleted at the table for you. Dole is consistently good. Always buzzy and full of atmosphere. We all had the sole. It was excellent. The salmon started was ok. Lacked some finesse and a prawn or crab starter choice would have been nice. But really good overall

The service was extremely disappointing. It took persistent effort to even get acknowledged, and once seated, we waited over 10 minutes before having to flag someone down just to place our order. The staff were largely inattentive and absent throughout the meal. To make matters worse, the prices are outrageously high for what you get. You can easily find better quality food at a fraction of the cost in countless other places around Dublin. Save your money and go elsewhere.

We celebrated our one year anniversary here with the captains seafood tower in December and it was absolutely incredible. The quality of the seafood was excellent and we highly recommend the seafood tower because you get to try a little bit of everything. The service was outstanding. Our waitress Mai was so sweet and attentive even though the restaurant was incredibly busy for the Christmas period. Sole is very well run and if you want somewhere to mark a special occasion this is definitely the place.

Absolutely fantastic restaurant! The food is fantastic, the service and attention is wonderful and the ambience is buzzing. We come to Sole every time we visit Dublin and it never fails our expectations

Thoroughly enjoyed our Christmas meal at Sole. The Christmas menu was well chosen and contained many favourites. The staff were incredible. A great experience!
