Such a grown and sexy venue. I love the speakeasy ambiance and the delicious food. Our server was fantastic and very knowledgeable about the menu and what to recommend. I def will be visiting again.

I visited here for the first time Monday evening. The atmosphere was pleasant and reminiscent of early supper clubs. Our seating was supposed to be at 8:45, but it was nearly 1/2 hour before we were finally seated. Not a deal breaker but it was already late when we arrived. My party ordered the fried chicken sliders with cavior. It ok but chicken paired with fish eggs... I think not. I ordered the bone in New York steak and my wife had the petite fillet 6oz, and our guest ordered salmon. Her salmon was grossly under cooked and the fillet texture was literally cow leather and totally impossible to enjoy. Our sides were mac and cheese and mashed potatoes. Our mac was palletable but unfortunately, our mashed potatoes were a none starter. The consistency was loose not firm and lacked any flavor thereof. My wife had been reading Sommervilles reviews and customers spoke highly about the collard lasagna but, when we inquired about it's availability we were disappointed that it was sold out. It's a popular dish but unfortunately,not one that we could sample. For such a pricey menu and a limited selection of table fare one would expect far better than what we received. My wife plans to return just to sample the lasagna. I 'll pass.

The ambience was excellent! The service was a little scrambled(my waitress at least was). Unfortunately my reservation for a party of 2 was at 830pm , but I wasn’t seated until 915p. I was given a free glass of champagne by the bartender as I waited. The restaurant was out of the dinner rolls. I ordered salmon. I was disappointed due to the fact is was petite in size. If I decide to go back, I hope all the mishaps will be corrected by then or I just may visit the bar area.

I was anxiously anticipating my first visit to Somerville, and the experience did not disappoint. Such a pleasurable evening. The design alone is absolutely stunning. The service excellent, the food far exceeded my expectations. The lighting and live music provided such a good vibes that I could have sat there all night! I can't wait to return!

I enjoyed my experience at Somerville. The staff were kind and attentive. I ordered the Salmon and it came out quickly. Some areas of improvement: portion size - my salmon & rice pilaf serving was very small and was not accompanied by any vegetable, table lighting - very difficult to see the menu w/o using the flashlight on my phone, Availability of menu selections - Many items were sold out and Restaurant Entrance - One person checking in and seating causes delays, Restrictions on entry- My party was already seated, however, I wasn’t allowed to enter w/o the hostess. I look forward to improvements and coming in a couple of months when some of these kinks have been worked out.

The food came out too slowly. People who came in after us got their food before us so the kitchen is still working things out. But the food was worth the wait! Really excellent! And the ambiance is incredibly well thought out. It’s a beautiful addition to South LA. Can’t wait to go back.

Yeah…please don’t let the rumors cause you to miss out on this place. The entire experience was AMAZING! Starting with the Parker rolls js the one thing you should guarantee, I’ll be thinking about them for weeks. We ordered the salmon, rolls, Brussels sprouts, burger, truffle fries and TWO orders of the Chicken and caviar. Also had their take on the old fashioned and a Paloma. Our server was very knowledgeable and friendly and the icing on the cake was the conversation with their customer experience manager. She solidified the visit for us and I cannot wait to go back!
