Having had two prior excellent dining experiences, we’ve come to the conclusion while the fanfare and food choices may be positive, too many glitches would prevent us from returning. Appetizers, including asparagus with ribeye and cauliflower were wonderful . Presentation was wonderful. Drink choices were certainly plenty of as there is a large focus on alcohol at this establishment. We did appreciate that they remembered that it was my daughter‘s birthday and the fanfare around It was great.
However, we had not quite finished at 9 PM and it appeared there was only one waiter in the entire restaurant. We had to wait a very long time to get our bill and then to pay. Additionally, we ordered both flank, steak and skirt steak and while ordered, medium rare, they literally came out raw. They give you a heating oven which forces you pretty much to cut the pieces and sometimes wait 10 or 15 minutes while the meat is cooking to the heating level you requested. This is not a Korean barbecue where I should have to do so much work when you’re paying $40-$80 for a steak. This is a reputed steakhouse so when you asked for a medium rare how two different dishes can come out raw is beyond me. I have to say that the seasoning on the skirt steak was outstanding while no one really liked the flank steak at our table.
Ambience as usual was great Also, I appreciated that they did not separate the smokers from the non-smokers as they had in the past. I just can’t get over the fact that we had two different steaks at a steakhouse that came out raw and they put the burden on the customer to then heat their own stake on a portable grill on the table to their liking. Each time we were there we noticed that after we ate our meal, it always seemed that the servers disappeared and after they hand you the bill it always takes a long time for them to close out the bill.
Probably the only restaurant we will not return to when we come back to Cancun . Sorry. 🙁
