I went on Valentine’s Day and was disappointed in most of the waitstaff I interacted with. We started at the bar cause we arrived a little early before our reservation. Despite being at the bar and being within 5 feet of the bartenders, it took awhile to finally have someone pop up behind me to take our order. I ordered two drinks, but they could only serve one at first due to needing to find the ice block for the other. While waiting for the second drink at the waiter was pressuring us to start the ten course meal while at the bar “cause there are a lot of people coming in” but I said no. Then waiter then brought the second drink and I had to be firm that we wanted to start our meal at the table at our reservation time when he pushed again. Once the hostess came to get us we stood up to take our drinks to the table and the bartender/waiter who had pressured us to start our meal at the bar yelled that I needed to pay the bill. I assumed it would be transferred to the table, but I told her to go to the table and I would just pay there. I then stood at the bar for several minutes before the waiter realized he had never actually had given me my bill. He ran my bill and I was able to pay.
The experience at the table was much better. The food was amazing. Some of the waiters that dropped off the entrees spoke fast it was hard to catch it all. A couple got seated next to us and the first thing the waitress said to them was “yall have a 90 minute time limit” even though there were open tables and no line at that time.
If I’m spending $150 a person, I shouldn’t have to feel like I’m burden to have in the restaurant and need to be leave as soon as possible.
