Spoons Riverside is a cafe, restaurant, wedding and function venue uniquely located on the Little Murray River in Swan Hill, Victoria. Spoons provides a memorable dining experience, whether it be for breakfast, brunch, lunch or afternoon tea. Dine inside and enjoy the ambience of the floor-to-ceiling windows and large hanging sculptures or enjoy the expansive deck with full riverfront views nestled amongst the River Red Gums in a unique, distinctly Australian setting. The relaxing atmosphere is enhanced by watching the river flow whilst listening to the gentle background music. Located in one of Australia’s premier food-growing regions, in the heart of the Murray, we pride ourselves on 3 key areas when it comes to food; fresh, seasonal and regional. Our menu changes as the season does, with deliciously juicy stone fruit and Murray Cod in summer and the freshest quinces and pears in winter.

Lovely venue backed by good view from the river as well as the pioneer settlement. Food presentation was good and taste was good. However, I was disappointed how the requested over-easy fried eggs had came out as over-hard. Much to improve from a chefs perspective.

We were booked for a birthday lunch at 2pm as apparently earlier was not available. On arrival it was empty which seemed strange due to availability. Off course we had a lovely table but only the snack menu was on offer as kitchen closes at 2pm! Not happy at all as was meant to be a lovely Lunch. It’s the nicest venue or only venue on the river so don’t know why they don’t accomodate tourists better on the weekend and have lunch going a little later or at least notify that they don’t! Overall not happy with our experience.

We were a little disappointed in the menu choices, as there was not much variety in the lunch menu. We were looking for something a little more substantial including more salad choice, so will think again before going to Spoons for lunch. The breakfast menu on the other hand looked quite expansive and accommodating.

The Spoons team provided a wonderful service, catering for 24 people for a staff breakfast. Will be booking again!

The Winter degustation menu was a real treat. Amazing hearty and decadent food with amazing detail and beautiful drinks to compliment the evening.

Good food and service The grazing plate was not good value for money though Waitresses were very accomodating which was appreciated Didn’t feel hurried able to sit and enjoy the surroundings
