The Spring Mill Café has been serving French country fare since 1978. We're a BYO that serves lunch, dinner and Sunday brunch. The historic property features the original Spring Mill general store, and the picturesque converted farmhouse. When the weather is nice, guests are invited to dine outdoors adjacent the gardens, either on the patio or on one of the porches.

The Spring Mill Café is perfect for your next party. We offer two distinct venues. The main building can host groups of up to forty, and the rustic farmhouse is ideal for groups up to twenty-five. Both venues feature the country French cooking that has delighted guests for over three decades.

Parking is easy with a large lot adjacent the restaurant.
Public transit
The Spring Mill station is just a few blocks from the restaurant. Just take the R6 Norristown line to the Spring Mill station, follow station road then make a right on Hector St. At the end of Hector make a right on Barren Hill and we are just a few hundred yards up on the right.

Always a favorite spot with friends or just for a date night. Ezra and his team, from servers to kitchen , provide a very pleasant and tasty dining experience. We have been coming up the SMC for 40 years and believe it has only gotten better with age!

We were told to leave after an hour and a half. They needed the table. We were definitely not in France.

Hello Douglas, my apologies that you felt rushed, and you are correct we do give 1.5 hours for parties of 2 or 3. This is very normal within the industry (even in France), and some restaurants similar to us give just an hour, this is especially true on Friday and Saturday nights at 7pm. But obviously you are annoyed, and in the hopes of making amends please let me know if you would like to return, and I will have a complimentary bottle of bubbly waiting for you. Ho Hum - just another 5 star review....but it's worth it despite the many many times we've been here. The daily special salads were huge, fresh, and excellent. My wife had the shrimp and grits for the first time (despite my urging her for a long time) and she loved them. I had the steak frites, which I almost never order - and I'm so glad I did. Most steak frites is a tough cut of meat that's not much good for anything else. But this was the same quality as the filet and absolutely the best steak frites I ever had anywhere. The meat was tender and juicy, and the fries were just right. With the same great staff and attention to detail that's part of the SMC culture, it's simply wonderful!

We celebrated a birthday and our entire experience was perfect. Three of us enjoyed the beet and kale appetizer, and one person ordered the pate. They were both delicious. We ordered the duck, the Moroccan chicken and the sea bass entrees and all were cooked to perfection. The noise level was perfect, even though the tables were within close proximity to one another. The service staff was very cordial and attentive. We would dine here again.
