   Had to try before leaving Maui and it did not disappoint. My faves were the bau buns and shrimp tempura. Had not had tempura that fresh & tasty since visiting Dotonbori Osaka Japan.

   Don’t leave this place without ordering the pork buns. I can eat 2 orders of that by myself and call that dinner.

   This is our favorite restaurant on Maui. We love the garlic noodles and tonight tried 2 new items: the Papaya Tofu Salad, and the Tempura Shrimp. Both were exceptionally good. The new space is just glorious with amazing views and tasteful finishes. The service was perfect in timing and tone. Such a gem of a restaurant. We'll be back time and time again!

   It was my wife's birthday! We celebrated with a friend. The setting was amazing. We had an ocean front table and the ambiance was great.

   There is no doubt that Star Noodle has delicious food, especially for Asian Fusion in Maui, but I also think that the overall experience matters just as much, with service being taken into consideration. We arrived before they opened and were 2nd in line. As others arrived, one group went ahead of us. About 5 mins. before the restaurant opened, the hostess made an announcement that those with reservations would be prioritized. We were able to check-in before they opened. When they finally opened for service, another staff made the same announcement that those with reservations would first. We stayed outside thinking that they would call us in since we’ve already checked-in while everyone else entered to check-in. After not being called for a while, we ended up following the crowd and our names were finally called, but then we noticed that people who walked-in and those who came after us were already seated. Other groups of people were already eating while the server was barely getting order. The server did not introduce her name, or offer any specials or recommendations in her introduction. We also went with our toddler and they did not have a keiki menu shown, but she did not even share what kids usually order there. We ended up overhearing her say the options to another table behind us and then ordered for our toddler, causing us to order more than needed. The food arrived quickly, which is a plus, however, the ambiance of the restaurant was loud and crowded, and we felt so rushed when we were eating. We were in and out of there in just 1 hour. It was hard to enjoy the food considering our overall experience. Their pork belly was delicious, as well as the pad Thai. My husband ordered the Star Udon which was tasty. On the other hand, the ahi belly was very savory for it to only be served by itself and onions. The pork and shrimp dumplings were also too salty. Overall, I don’t feel the need to have to/ want to go back there with the experience we’ve had.
