Star Rover Sound is throwing it back to the great American steakhouse, an institution that transcends time and trend. Steak Dinners at Star Rover will offer the complete experience – cut in-house steaks paired with crisp salads and crisper cocktails, bottomless triple-cooked fries and onion rings, fresh-baked dinner rolls, live music, and good times.

Just like the 1970s West Texas steakhouses that Chef/Owner Ford Fry so fondly remembers, guests will be reintroduced to an era when steak dinners weren’t just for special occasions but were an everyday luxury – complete with checkered tablecloths, a candlelit glow, and Sharpies for signing the walls.

    Food and value were excellent, service was sub par. We were the very first people in the restaurant at 6pm and the only people there for about 20 mins and all was well, service was good and food came out correctly and prompt. Then once it started filling up we were never checked on again after about 6:45pm. We had finished our food by 7pm the latest but a server never once came back to our table to check on drinks, see if we wanted dessert, bring us a check, or anything. At least 6 other tables around us were seated after us and gone before us. We didn’t end up leaving until after 8pm, after my 2hr parking I had paid for had expired. Luckily I didn’t receive a ticket but I had never anticipated that we would be there for over 2hours just to be able to get the check and go. I had originally wanted to order dessert but since it had been over 2 hours at that point we were definitely not going to stay longer. Again, food and value and ambience were great but service was not excellent. We seem to be the only table they forgot about though.

    What a fun experience. I wish the live music started earlier. I love the simple menu guaranteed to fill your belly with just enough room for a delicious dessert. Paige's hospitality was top-notch, and Casey's concoctions were thoughtful and perfect. We will be back to this Germantown corner find.

    Loved the whole thing. Wish it were a little more crowded when we went. There was a performer on stage for half our dinner which was fun. Seems to have a different energy on a night to night basis. But definitely go and try the food it is awesome

    Love Star Rover! Excellent service - we loved our server and she made the night so fun! She went above and beyond for us. And we loved The Golden Barrel Band. Our steaks were great and that basket of fries and onion rings always hit the spot!

    What an absolute find! Star Rover was out of this world! Absolutely loved the vibe, the vintage homey feel and the old school steak dinner was beyond delicious! I'm only mad that it took us this long to find it. The staff was also exceptional. Next time we'll stay for the music as well. Because there WILL be a next time!

    Truly enjoyed our experience at Star rover! Great steak good drinks! Wish the restaurant cleared away the tables and had a second band/ musician after the dinner time show and served drinks offered a space to enjoy the music and dance! I enjoyed my time but it sure does close shop super quickly!

    I’ve been here many times and typically love it. But this time in particular I asked for a simple jack and coke and was charged $22 because they only have single barrel. You need to tell your customers that’s the case so they can decide if they want to spend that much money on a drink.

    Steaks were tasty. Good value. No bread was offered. Had to ask after the steaks were tabled. Drinks went empty.

    Absolutely wonderful experience. The menu is simple and excellent, the rolls are unbelievable, the desserts are amazing, the music is always spot on, and the service is next level!!!!!!
