Starlite is a historic San Francisco cocktail bar with nearly a century of vibrant stories. Renowned for hosting lively parties and attracting iconic figures like Alan Ginsberg, Starlite invites guests to the Beacon Grand’s 21st-floor, featuring refreshed interiors by San Francisco designer Alice Crumeyrolle. The atmosphere is set with rich velvet fabrics and a jewel-tone palette inspired by the Art Deco Era, paying homage to the city’s icons. Crafted by Scott Baird of Trick Dog fame, the cocktails are both playful and meticulously made. Michelin-award-winning chef Johnny Spero curates a menu that celebrates San Francisco’s culinary artistry, drawing inspiration from international fare. Enhancing the experience are nightly, all-vinyl DJ sets by music director Nina Tarr.

Bottom shelf alcohol was poor for what we paid. Service was poor and food was mediocre. We asked several times about gluten but they never came back with an answer

It was a bit frustrating being from out of town that when I booked the reservation nothing about 21 was displayed. My two sons ages 18 and 15 ended up having to go down to the hotel restaurant to eat, this should be clear and loud for people who are not from the area. The waitress seemed less than interested in us the entire evening. We ordered two things, one which she forgot and had to remind her. The drinks were good, the food was fine, the view is amazing, it was definitely too loud for what we were looking for. The cost was not worth it in the end in my opinion.

We went for the view and dancing (as we used to go). The view is always spectacular, but we were disappointed that there is no dancing (even though they have a DJ and ample space. Overall, our drinks were great, the food so-so, but we had a great time.

This was the first time we've been back since the last remake. It has been a decades long family tradition to visit during the holiday season. We were not disappointed. The drinks were good and the tuna crudo was especially delicious.

The Starlite is a great spot to have a cocktail, and enjoy some great music and an amazing view. We had a reservation and were seated right away. They offer non-alcohol spirit mocktails that are tasty and the bites are great. The sundae dessert is to die for! They had a DJ, Seven B, spinning and it was one banger after the other! Can't wait to go back.

The place is beautiful but unfortunately the experience was poor. I made a reservation with time but when I arrived I had to wait. When they finally had a table open we found the place was lovely, we ordered drinks and food and were there for hours consuming. Yet when we asked for the check I went to the restroom while my friend finished his wine and the hostess asked the rest of my friends to please leave now because they had other reservations. I brought my friends from out of town to visit this beautiful place and never had they ever been asked to leave a place while they were still finishing their wine. They were surprised and I was extremely disappointed.

Made reservation 10 days in advance. Seated in overflow space and basically ignored by the staff. Overflow space is like being in a cave. The whole reason for coming here is for the views. Waited 15 minutes before anyone even noticed we were there. We were poised to leave when we finally got waitstaff’s attention and decided to stay for one drink. That was the saving grace. The drinks were very good. TLDR if they seat you in the overflow space, do not bother staying.

Starlite is an amazing place if you want to have a magical experience! One of the best rooftop in San Francisco! The staff was so friendly and helpful. We were served right away! The drinks were DELICIOUS! Our bartender Mark was fantastic! And of course the locations and the view were breathtaking! I am definitely coming back!

Starlite Bar never disappoints, and that’s thanks to the incredible team led by David, the amazing GM, and Lindsey, the hostess extraordinaire. Every time I visit, Lindsey ensures I’m seated at the perfect table, making the experience feel personal and special. David’s leadership is evident in the impeccable service and attention to detail that define Starlite. The atmosphere is unmatched, the drinks are always spot-on, and the vibe is just right. This place truly sets the bar high—I can’t wait to return!
