In a warm and rustic setting, which echoes the Alps-inspired menu, Stella Alpina Osteria encapsulates the delicious cuisine of executive chef Matteo Ferrari's heritage. Scrumptious starters include the risotto cakes con porcini mushrooms and the fonduta alla piemontese, a molten gruyere cheese dip served with crisp veggies and bread. Diners rave about the pasta dishes, such as the spicy penne all'arrabbiata and the rigatoni al ragu di maiale, with smoked pork and bell peppers. Stella Alpina Osteria house specialties include veal osso buco and spezzatino al barolo, a wine-infused beef stew served over mascarpone polenta. For a perky and sweet finish to your meal, try the affogato al caramello, an espresso shot poured over caramel gelato. Stella Alpina Osteria also gives a nod to California, with its use of local produce and vast selection of local wines.

                                                                      small , quaint, charming Italian restaurant off the beat in track in downtown Burlingame. Be sure to make a reservation, otherwise you can wait a long time. Cozy bar. Only down fall of this place is that it gets a little noisy. It is worth the noise.
