STK is hopping on Friday nights! We were looking for an upscale steak house but this was bordering on nightclub. We were seated in the bar area in the middle of the action which was great for people watching but hard to hear because of the music and talking. The service was mediocre, not what you would expect from a high end restaurant. The wine glasses were dirty but we weren’t using them in any event.
The complementary bread is to die for: blue cheese butter with chive oil- trust me it works and is delicious!!
We chose the bacon as a starter. It was only 2 pieces but super thick like pork belly so it was sufficient for all of us to share.
When the food arrived it looked delicious, however we had no silverware to enjoy it. We couldn’t find our server and It took asking 2 separate people to bring some.
The steaks were perfectly cooked and the short rib had this delicious red wine reduction that was to die for. I would have loved to get a glass of wine with dinner to complement the meat, but our server was still MIA. At least now I had a fork to enjoy it with.
We chose tater tots, macaroni and cheese, and market vegetables for our sides, which were all large enough to share The tots were larger than a large scallop. Like a humongous pencil eraser. But still tasty, just huge. The vegetables were fresh green beans but were stringy and not edible. The macaroni and cheese was the bomb.
Prices were about 20% too high. With tax and tip we paid $160 pp. we had one cocktail each, tap water, the bacon appetizer, one entree each (nothing in the crazy range) 2 small filets and a short rib) 3 sides and no dessert.
We were so hungry we forgot to take pictures. All in all it was a decent experience, good food, high prices but a good night overall.
