The Sugar Mill – Montego Bay
I had the pleasure of dining at The Sugar Mill in Montego Bay on Sunday, March 2, 2025, at 6:30 PM. From the moment we arrived, the setting was both inviting and elegant, exuding an old-world plantation charm. The restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor seating, each with its own unique ambiance. The indoor dining area is an open-air gazebo, while the outdoor seating is nestled within a lush tropical garden, creating a serene and intimate atmosphere. The tables were beautifully lit with candles and walkway lighting, adding to the overall enchantment of the evening.
The service was exceptional—attentive and engaging without feeling intrusive. Our server provided a thoughtful introduction to the menu, highlighting the care taken in dish preparation.
As for the food, it was expertly prepared and served at a comfortable pace that allowed for full enjoyment. We started with the jerk chicken roll appetizer, which was flavorful and well-balanced. For the main course, I had the Lemon Jerk Marinated Chicken Supreme, while my wife opted for the braised short ribs with rice and peas. Both dishes were exquisitely prepared, showcasing a perfect blend of traditional flavors and refined execution.
Overall, The Sugar Mill delivered an outstanding dining experience with its breathtaking setting, impeccable service, and beautifully crafted dishes. It’s a must-visit for anyone looking to enjoy fine dining in Montego Bay.
