                                                      Excited to have reserved this restaurant and was let down. Overall food was not great, service below average and music was vulgar. Ordered steamed dumplings and gumbo dumplings just to receive two orders of gumbo and waiters said “they all taste the same” what!!

                                                      The food was delicious however the service was horrible. The wait time between ordering and actually receiving food and drinks was incredibly delayed, our server seemed annoyed to even be taking our orders, we were never checked on to see if we needed anything else/how things were going. As a local to New Orleans and seeing the traction this restaurant has gotten online, I was overall pretty disappointed with the whole experience.

                                                      I visited 12/7/24 and there was no wait at 11:45am. Sun Chong had a relaxed ambiance, good music (R&B), and nice decor. There was a parade passing a block or 2 away so noise level was moderate. The server didn’t take long to greet us and ask for drink orders. We couldn’t decide on an appetizer, so she recommended gumbo dumplings, which wasn’t on the menu. They were delicious! The food came pretty quickly. I ordered the seafood ramen, which wasn’t what I was expecting. After having the dumplings, I expected the ramen to be very flavorful, but it was just really spicy. They should’ve had a spice warning on the menu, though the server did ask if I’m ok with spice. My daughter had the fried chicken. It was fresh out of the grease hot and very crispy. Again, it lacked the flavor I was looking for, but it wasn’t bland. The side dish, veggie fried rice, was good. Overall, I wasn’t impressed with the main entrees; the small plates items were the stars for me.

                                                      Always a great experience at Sun Chong. The waitress and host were super nice and helpful. I can’t wait to go back the next time I’m in New Orleans.

                                                      -Customer service is great! -Food was just ok. We had the crab dip, gumbo dumplings, bulgogi beef, Korean fried chicken, breakfast bacos, and the crawfish and grits. Nothing was really hot with the exception of the fried chicken and it was fresh and tasted great. I wasn’t a fan of the gumbo dumplings at all. A little too salty and spicy. The top of the dumpling was also hard/tough. -For the price, I expected a little bit more out of the food. -The bathroom was also dirty with broken toilet seat . Our reservation was at 11 am when they opened and we were the second table to be seated. So the clearly the bathroom hadn’t been cleaned for closing or at opening. -Overall experience was good. Check them out for yourself.

                                                      Food was great and service was fine. Gratuity was already included on the bill (party of 3) and the waitress failed to tell us, so we left a 20% tip on top of the 18% already incorporated into the bill.

                                                      At 3:45 on a Friday they were out of two different wines and two entrées. One being the pork bao bun. Also did not like ambience. Don’t feel like listening to loud rap music when I eat Korean food. The ambience was off-putting.
