Sun Moon Studio is a farm and producer-driven restaurant in West Oakland by Chefs Alan Hsu and Sarah Cooper.

We offer a multi-course tasting menu for $150 per person in our intimate 4 table dining room. An optional beverage pairing is available for $90 per person.The focus of our menu is to highlight the bounty of local producers and farmers through the lens of our life experiences.

We are happy to adjust our menu to dietary restrictions, but require advanced notice. Please let us of your parties dietary restrictions when making a reservation so we may plan for your arrival.

Farm and producer driven tasting menu in West Oakland in an intimate 4 table restaurant, by Chefs Alan Hsu and Sarah Cooper. Multi-course prix-fixe menu featuring local and sustainably sourced ingredients directly from farmers, ranchers, producers, and fishermen interpreted through the lens of Northern California Cuisine. We will gladly prepare for dietary restrictions as long as there is advanced notice.

An intimate and personal restaurant with an outstanding tasting menu. Food is Asian/Californian. Our meal was seafood based with imaginative combinations. Very warm service and ambience with personal care from chefs/owners. Highly recommend!!! Not cheap, but worth it!

Truly fantastic experience all around. Lovely service, incredible food, and a beautiful atmosphere. Each flavor combination and presentation was better than the one before. Can't wait to come back for the spring menu!

What an amazing experience. Definitely one of the most memorable meals of my life. The food was beautiful, thoughtful and delicious. The level of craftsmanship was evident in the tiniest details such as a perfectly toasted pistachio and the most crisp and flakey shell for the egg tart. I highly recommend the beverage pairing which elevated the flavors of each bite. I was impressed how warm and welcoming everyone was. I was greeted by my name when I walked inside a little unsure if I was in the right place. Every detail had a story and we learned so much. As an Oakland native, I loved that they partner and showcase the crafts of other Oakland businesses.

A truly fantastic meal and experience. It is elevated and comfortable. The flavor profiles and progression were on point. The pastry and bread work was spectacular. The service was attentive and thoughtful. The energy in the room was vibrant. We were so grateful for the opportunity to enjoy an evening with the Sun Moon team.

The food was delicious. The staff was attentive, friendly, and accommodating. The setting was peaceful. The whole ambience was relaxing and engaging. The personalized menu created anticipatory delight that was invariable exceeded by the food itself, once presented. It was our 58th Wedding Anniversary and it was mentioned to us the moment we entered. It was even printed on our menu.
