Coming from San Francisco, i have high expectations for pricey Omakase meals and was excited to see something resembling that scene in San Jose at Sushi Adachi. This far the sushi scene has fallen flat for me in the South Bay, and unfortunately continues to do so with this location.
With the price of roughly $500 for 2, I expected an exclusive experience like a Kusakabe or Hinata, but was presented with an average sushi roll, bento type of shop. Highlight here was the service as they tried really hard to give us a special dining experience. But since their main customers were your average joes looking for sushi rolls and bentos, it was tough to provide the proper ambiance. The food was fresh, but lacking in flavor and had to dip all my nigiri in soy sauce. The table next to us had a family of 3 with a young child that blasted his phone while watching videos and little courtesy. Would not recommend coming here for high quality omakase
