On Wednesday, December 4th, explore the world of Japanese sake through all ten "Chapters" of the 59 Takachiyo series produced by renowned toji Satoru Nakazawa. Sake Sommeliers Eduardo Dingler and Daniel Bennett will guide you through the subtleties and nuances of each edition focusing on a specific Japanese sake-rice varietal! The featured sake has been specifically paired with dishes crafted by Master Chef Kaze Chan for an unforgettable four-course dining experience. Reserve your spot today for a night of flavors and fun. This is our second time dining here. I liked the food the first time more than today. I feel that maki rolls today had too much rice and for some reason we were served very salty soy sauce instead of asking if we wanted regular or low sodium. Otherwise the food was fresh and very flavorful. Service was quick, friendly and professional.

The host staff sat us 45 minutes after our reservation and took walk ins before us. They didn’t motion people to move out of the way of the host stand and the entrance was so chaotic and over stimulating. Our waitress forgot about us and we didn’t get drinks for another 20 minutes after being sat. The drinks came out after the food. Everything is overpriced and the staff is incompetent.

One of my sashimi’s that was supposed to be seared with melted French butter came out fully raw, and the edamame tasted like charcoal.

Food is perfect. Service perfect. Ambiance/decor is outstanding. For an upscale neighborhood sushi place, this is one of the best places in the country. BTW: The vibe is far more “mellow” at the Lincoln Park Halsted Street sushi-San than at the sushi-San in River North on Grand Ave. One is not better than the other, they are just different. I go to both places for a total of four or five times a month.
