Sasabune is known as one of the earliest and the best "Omakase" Edo style sushi restaurant in Los Angeles for over 29years.
Chef Genji hand picked fresh fishes every day from the sushi market, so we serve the best taste of the fish!
At Sasabune Glendale we believe in the beauty of simplicity. Our focus is on letting the natural flavors of the ingredients shine without unnecessary embellishments or distractions.

Omakase is the popular dishes which you let chef pick the today’s recommendation fishes for you!

Seated an hour passed the reservation time. Did not enjoy food. Food came out too slow. Felt sick after. Will never come back.

Got there by 6:50pm for the 7pm reservation, didn’t get seated until 815pm, an hour and 15 min wait time with a reservation. The servers are incredibly rude and didn’t offer a single apology. We were seated in the back and servers didn’t come unless specifically asked or giving us food. $150 for a very mediocre selection of seafood. STAY AWAY!

Amazing five-star sushi dining experience. The butterfish and monkfish liver (if listed) are both to die for!

The fish was very high quality and served with subtle yet thought pairings. The service was excellent. The prices are quite high (but on par compared to other high end sushi places in LA). It’s probably too expensive for us to go back, but if you’re used to spending $500 on dinner for 2, you’ll probably be quite satisfied.

The omakase is as a good experience however I feel that the pallet is shifted towards a different audience than myself . The money to value ratio was not there for me seeing that majority of the fish served to me I can find anywhere with close quality
