We made reservations for 2 for a standard table for 7 pm and arrived at 7:00 pm. We were told that they only had bar tables other than 1 table within 3-4 of front door that opened to the front strip. It was already very cold in the restaurant and temperature was low 20s so to cold for us tolerate since the door was being frequently opened people picking up to go orders. Plus people were standing right up against the table paying or picking up. I hip problems so unable to sit in tall bar tables. They had tables for 4 and larger open but told those were reserved for later bigger parties. We winded up leaving because the thought of eating with people constantly standing inches away in a tight cramped space that was freezing had no appeal and staff wasn't friendly at all. We try to patron new locally owned restaurants as much as possible in our area to support new businesses. After our experience seriously doubt we will be returning.

Great experience. Very cozy vibe, reasonable price, excellent service, and even better food. Everyone from the owner to the servers made us feel very welcomed and took their time explain the menu. I’ll definitely be returning. 10/10.

Swagath is the only fine dine Indian restaurant in Memphis. The cuisine brings a mixture of North and South India. Kolkata chicken Kathi roll and Mandi are a must try.
