The Swan bar, restaurant & private dining rooms are located at Shakespeare's Globe on Bankside and have stunning River Thames and central London views.

The bar offers relaxed all-day dining, sharing plates and British classics such as fish and chips, alongside craft beers, small-batch London gins and tonics, seasonal cocktails and English sparkling wines. We were held up going to the restaurant and contacted them to let them know. The staff were really helpful and simply rearranged the reservation time. When we arrived the staff were very understanding and attentive. The afternoon tea was delicious and the atmosphere was lovely especially when it went darker outside - the lights inside the restaurant were dimmed and it felt lovely and cosy. I would definitely go again and would highly recommend it.

I was surprised by the price. 12.5% was added on top. I would like to tip. I thought it would have been written somewhere if the restaurant itself imposed it.

The service we had was great and they went above and beyond to help our party of 20. That part that lets it down is the very limited menu and the fact that the menu does not list everything in the items. We had a person who could not eat her food due to allergies, and they did not list the item on the menu. She found out that it contained onions when biting into the first bite. The food was very basic and small portions On the plus side the service and selection or drinks was excellent.

We had a wonderful evening celebrating our son’s engagement. Excellent food and wine, a lovely table and attentive staff all made for a very special occasion

The food was excellent but the service was a bit spotty. Two tables who were seated after me were served first, and I don’t know that I would ever have been served if I had not called out to the waiter. The same was true when it was time to pay the bill. Someone brought the cheque, but I needed to ask someone to bring the machine so I could actually pay it.

The restaurant is very nice and the staff are attentive which is really good. You brought out a little treat to my friend for her birthday which was lovely and unexpected! I spent £110 on the afternoon tea and two glasses of wine which is a lot for what you get although the food is lovely and quite filling. When we were told we had overstayed our allocated time we decided to head downstairs to the bar which is where the evening took a turn slightly. We asked if we could sit in a booth and were told this was ok and that someone would come to us to take our order. We ordered 2 glasses of pinot, exactly the same as what we had upstairs and were shocked to be given a bill afterwards for £27! The bill said we had 4 small glasses of wine and we were told this is because they don’t have a ‘button for large’. We also learned that we had now been charged service charge because the wine was ordered from the table. (We were told to go to the table, I could have easily ordered at the bar Our confusion with both these issues was responded to fairly dismissively although I cannot believe we are the first people to raise the issue over the wine charge! 2 glasses upstairs in the restaurant were £16 total, why was it so different downstairs??? If you go here I would go to the restaurant and I recommend it but I would avoid visiting the bar unless you have lots of cash or a desire to debate with disinterested staff

Great location and view. Visited on Saturday afternoon. Super busy but service was great and attentive and came to check on us several times. Even the manager was helping the staff. Absolutely impeccable. To visit again
