Sway is an award-winning modern Thai restaurant serving dinner and happy hour, led by Executive Chef Frank Harris.

Named one of Bon Appétit’s “50 Best New Restaurants in America” in 2013, Sway was also most recently voted “Best Happy Hour in Austin” by readers of Austin Monthly as well as “2019 Best Thai Food” by the Austin-American Statesman.

We had gone for the first time on New Year's Eve, and it was an amazing experience, went back last night and our service was incredibly slow, we were without drinks for the first 20 minutes we were there and then after our first drink without drinks for another 30 minutes, and even though they had tables that were pretty open, they put us at a packed table, which is kind of awkward when you are looking for a romantic date night with the way they have the restaurant set up with big square tables with bench seating.

Hi Jennifer, Thank you for your review, we appreciate the feedback and will use it to focus on what needs to be tightened up. I agree that these wait times for your drinks were too long. I also strive to make sure that your special events are just that...special. Booking communal tables can be a challenge, but there are measures we like to take to let people feel like their evening is remarkable. If you like, I'd love to set you up with our absolute best spot in the restaurant for two... the upstairs bar overlooking the DT skyline. I'd also like to get your first round of drinks. Oysters were inedible Service was rude Food has gone way downhill for the past 15-20 visits Sad turn for this place

The food here is amazing which is why I keep coming back but the service is terrible. We had to flag our waiter down multiple times and even had to ask other people for drinks. The Tom kha gai soup is literally the best thing in the entire world. Again, the food is fantastic and the only reason I come back but be prepared for terrible service.

Tried all veg and vegan option. Food and drinks were flavourful. Service was top notch. Perfect place to celebrate special days

Loved this restaurant. My only negative was the noise inside. We were a 3 generation party of four who wanted to enjoy limited time together. The table configurations and energy level inside would’ve that hard We ate on the patio which was just great and we had a wonderful time.

This was our first time eating at Sway and it was amazing! We got the salt and pepper calamari for starters and the 2 pound red snapper…. It was sooooo good! The Emperor cocktail was to die for, smoothest bourbon I’ve ever had. The espresso martini is a must if you like dessert drinks. The Manager is super friendly and explains everything really well. We will definitely be going back

What a great place! Nice finding a delicious meal a little bit outside the city. Fun date night spot for sure! Feels very upscale for decent pricing.
