7:45pm. 0nly 6 covers when we arrived (2) I had requested through the OpenTable App to sit in the dinning room not at a bar or counter height table. When asked by the hostess if the two-top she was seating us at was ok. I ask, is this your most romantic table available? She just looked around and nervously smiled at me. We sat but it was counter height. -1
Waiter took 3-minutes to pour water but we were ready with cocktail orders.
It took about 10-12 minutes to receive our drinks. My martini was no longer cold and the birthday girl’s cosmopolitan was not made well. “Tasted like water” was the comment.
We ordered appetizers- crispy chicken wings, Mac and cheese, and an heirloom tomato salad
Kitchen was slow and moving even slower
All apps came out together- we liked that.
Crispy chicken wings and their sauce was delicious!
3-cheese Mac n Cheese was grainy and pasta overcooked. It was not good.
Heirloom tomato salad was good portion size but
was missing something to bring it to life. A vinaigrette. On the side would have elevated this dish. Instead salt and pepper from the table
Pet peeve- it’s a birthday dinner - and the waiter comes and clears my plates while the birthday girl is still enjoying her food. Slow the heck down. It’s not like you needed the dishes. It is rude to give the guest the impression they are eating too slowly. Never pull plates until all have indicated they are done. Perhaps unless you’re very crowded. In this case there were 13 covers. Including us.
Our drinks are empty all plates are pushed back silverware is on the plates and Our waiter disappeared for 15 minutes. We signal the hostess who is in the back and as it turns out was chatting with the waiter and bus boy.
All this time the manager is sitting at the two top on his computer. Every now and then he gets up and saunters through the restaurant and up towards the bar then back down, never talking a moment to engage customers.
