Before I start, you need to know I have never given such a bad review - I am a very reasonable and accurate reviewer. But you should never visit this one. My friend and I called in to this unpreposessing restauarant round the back of Paddington. We just wanted a quick meal and it was the closest on Open Table - it was 11pm on a Friday night. We were the only people in there. It was very basic - no carpet, crappy chairs, tiny. We ordered tap water and a beer. He brought bottled water, and just poured it - I assumed it was one of those places where they serve tap water in their own bottles, so said nothing. He kept pushing the more expensive lines and I fell for it without thinking - so, we asked for a chicken curry and a lamb one. He suggested duck, without me realising how much more it was. He also suggested a couple of samosas whilst they were cooking the main meal so we agreed. To be fair, the food was OK, nothing special, but the bill was nearly £50. The water and beer alone were £10. I paid on a card and the machine asked me how much I wanted to tip. I tried to continue, but the system wouldn't let me. I asked him and he added one penny as a tip - which is in itself outrageous. I didn't complain at the time - although it was clear from my approach to the tip what I thought! - because my friend hates me getting into arguments on the spot, and I didn't want to offend her. I am sure I am not the only person who has this experience with friends. I asked for a bill so I could see the breakdown and all I got was the total on a strip of paper. There are plenty of better places to eat near here and I'm really disappointed that Open Table continue to do business with this devious crowd. They should be removed.
