We were able to eat outside because the weather was very nice and they did have the heaters. Every single thing we ordered was absolutely delicious and even though we live very far away in Kendall, we would come back sometime.

Definitely a hot spot on a Saturday night! Had open table reservations for standard seating but was placed at the sushi bar. (Perhaps because I was dining solo?) Not my preference, but I didn’t want to wait any longer for a table. Waited at least 15 minutes for a waiter to take my drink order. In the meantime, two people were seated next to me and the waiter took their drink order and dinner order before even getting my drink order. A stingy wine pour but a decent wine. Ordered the heirloom tomato salad. It was very good but surprised that they were only cherry tomatoes. I suppose cherry tomatoes can come in heirloom varieties? For the entrée, I had the Short Rib Jabche with sweet potato noodles. It was delicious and I highly recommend.

Crowded and very noisy. I was expecting much better. The Waygu sliders should not be missed. Everything else was mediocre. (Well, except the chocolate molton cake, that was very good.) We ordered dumplings, never came. I told our server, still never came. The “angry chicken” had a great sauce but the chicken was dry and tough. Rock shrimp was dull, shot rib tacos, no flavor. Our server dropped the check while we were still eating. No “would you like dessert, coffee after dinner drink?” They were crowded so maybe they wanted to kick us out. We had our coffee (and chocolate cake,) then had to ask the server to remove the damn dumplings that we never got. Wasn’t able to try the sushi, so I may give them another shot. Not a very good first impression though.

Takato is always an amazing experience. The food is superb, the atmosphere is exciting and the service is great. From the moment we walked in the hosts were fabulous and the vibe was wonderful. Always a favorite place to go.
