Food is very good, and very warm and yet lively atmosphere. The service was just ok: 1) when we arrived with a reservation, we found ourselves with a table next to the washroom and the farthest away from the good spots, despite better tables being available with much better view and atmosphere. We didn’t try to change tables but I find it odd that we were offered a subpar table when others were available to begin with, as it was a slow night and better options. 2) our server took a very long time between appearances at the table, we had to specifically ask for water refill, and the attitude was indifferent and tired - not what we expected from Tap and Barrel. Overall it was ok but I’d recommend the leadership to assign people the best tables first and not viceversa, and train/pick servers better to enhance people’s experience. Perhaps this was an isolated case, but it made our experience a lot less than what we had hoped for.

The food was great once it arrived. But my gf finally received her order after I was already done eating because of 2 wrong items ordered with her meal. I also had to flag down our waiter to let him know our dinner was incorrectly prepared. He did not che k in on our meals. Our drinks were also empty each time and took awhile to have new ones brought out. Great atmosphere and location & the food was great. But these mistakes do not make me want to come back for a special dinner again.

This Tao and Barrell is usually one of my favourite go to places. Not yesterday. It started with the hostess not bringing us to the high top table we had booked. That did get straightened out. We had about 3 different servers. Our drinks arrived after our food. It took forever to get the table cleared once we were finished eating. Finally I had to go to the front to ask for our bill. Overall….not good.

Sincerely appreciate our server Ray,who took care of our needs especially allocating us seaview table upstairs. We loved the Zatar hummus and flat bread,Kale salad with Cajun chicken and yummy sticky toffee chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream as suggested by Ray. Thank you Ray you are an amazing person with good sense of humour..This is our second visit and will keep comingj. Hope we meet you on our next visit,unless you have become a manager.Many thanks.

We were hoping for a second floor table, as what was a choice on Open Table, however they didn’t have enough staff working upstairs. If it’s not available, please don’t have it as an option. I had family from out of town, so I wanted to have a table with the best views from the restaurant, which I believe, from previous experiences, is on the 2nd level.

Our server was very patient with our wine orders and she made sure we were satisfied with our wines. Food didn’t take long and they were good

It’s a bi menu and the food is good and reasonable prices. Service is great and the waitress is helpful and friendly.
