We believe wine is better with food & food is better with wine. A perfect pairing is an experience everyone should enjoy..often. Our unique approach to food and wine means we are "wine first". We first curate the wine list which includes 65+ wines by the glass and then design a food menu that specifically complements the wine. The kitchen is led by Executive Chef Julian Silvera who spent his early culinary career in restaurants in his native NYC. He then took his talents to Florida's Knife and Spoon, where he helped garner a coveted Michelin star. Chef Julian is passionate about sourcing hyperlocal ingredients & has a strong focus on sustainability. Our service team includes ten sommeliers and is proud to offer guests more than 1,000 wines by the bottle. We are a casually elegant wine bistro open Tues-Sat 5PM to 10PM. The Champagne Bar is open daily noon-10PM. Children are welcome on the patio. The Wine Bistro and Champagne Bar seats adults only. Live Music Nightly.

The Tasting House rear entrance is right next to City Parking Lot #1, off Saratoga-Los Gatos Rd. Park anywhere in the lot and walk north towards Saratoga-Los Gatos Rd. The Tasting House is on your left adjacent to the northwest corner of the lot.
Public transit
The Tasting House is right across Saratoga-Los Gatos road from the Los Gatos & University Bus Stop. Just walk down to University, cross the street, and head back up towards City Parking Lot 1. Walk into the parking lot and enter the Tasting House through our back entrance.

What's better than enjoying fabulous food paired with a quality glass of wine? Enjoying fabulous food and quality wine while listening to live jazz! Join us Fridays and Saturdays for a live band from 6PM to 9PM and a Solo pianist Tuesday through Thursday 6PM to 8PM, sometimes accompanied by a vocalist.

Wow! This place is like stepping into a 3-star Michelin restaurant—every detail is perfection. The ambiance is elevated by live music, creating an unforgettable atmosphere. The menu is a masterpiece, constantly evolving to surprise and delight. And the wine? Absolutely exceptional. My wife and I have experienced wine pairings and flights all over the Bay Area, and this is hands-down the best. And that’s saying something, considering we’re members of over ten wineries! The staff goes above and beyond, making every visit feel special. We’ve been here more than a dozen times, and each experience surpasses the last. Truly a gem—live music, incredible food, and impeccable service. A must-visit!

Wonderful chef and service. We came with a child who was tired / not feeling adventurous in his food. Chef made our kid from scratch chicken nuggets in addition to the amazing tasing menu. What?! Yeah. He is such a wonderful human. So, if you like amazing food (and really interesting experiences like aromatic flowers while enjoying a course on the tasting menu) this is the place for you. Highly recomended.

This was our second visit to Tasting House. Our first dining experience did not meet expectations but food service and the restaurant business are complex, and sometimes things just don't go your way. We knew that the kitchen and front of house staff were capable of more and our return confirmed this belief. This time, the service was more attentive, a glance away should we need something, yet unobtrusive. The restaurant was full, with a jazz trio playing in the bar. Despite being seated next to an 8 top, the noise level was not obtrusive. I'll admit to preferring quiet restaurants, but I think I'm in the minority, so I cannot complain. The food is of course, the most important topic, and on this the kitchen and wait staff delivered. The dishes were delicious, ready to enjoy, and appropriately portioned. The crustacean risotto was artfully presented in a Dungeness crab shell and left us wanting more. The duck confit was perfectly prepared, the acidic notes in the collard greens contrasting nicely with the unctuous duck. Desserts were wonderful, a delicious cheese cake with brown butter crumble and a chocolate mousse. I would have liked both to be slightly less chilled, just for the sake of the texture, but they were still both delicious. I'm looking forward to returning to Tasting House again soon.

Our server, Danny, the hostess, the sommelier, and the supporting staff were all wonderful and very attentive. I have food sensitivities that I called them in advance about. They made a special amuse bouche for me and worked with me to accommodate the sensitivities. Even with my dairy, gluten and almond sensitivities I had several options from the starters, mains and sides to choose from. While the dessert options were limited to just the meyer lemon sorbet, I was still happy with the sorbet. We loved the short rib, broccolini, brussels sprouts, and steak frites. Hubby loved the earl grey and scone ice cream scoop as well as the donut and coffee desserts. He was also impressed with the wines. We would definitely come back!

The Tasting House is the hidden gem that’s finally getting the recognition it deserves. Every special restaurant sets itself apart with its unique hospitality approach and The Tasting House exceeds expectations in that department. Chef Julien has all the imagination in the world and has quickly adapted to the local produce offerings with his surprising creations. To tie everything together, allow the sommelier wine pairings to take it over the top for you. Amazing place.

We had an incredible dinner last night…It was one of those meals that sticks with you. Right from the start, the atmosphere was something special. The live music added to the experience, making the whole evening feel warm, lively, and just a little bit magical. The wine list was seriously impressive…one of the best I’ve come across either domestically and internationally. The pairings were spot on, bringing out the best in every dish. And, speaking of food, the steak frites and braised short rib were absolutely delicious—perfectly cooked, deeply flavorful, and exactly what you’d hope for. Dessert was just as memorable. The Basque cheesecake and almond financier were both exceptional, the kind of sweet finish that lingers in the best way. If I had to nitpick, the amuse bouche bites and Korean fried chicken felt a little unbalanced, but honestly, that was a minor detail in an otherwise fantastic meal. The service was top notch, attentive, friendly, and never overbearing. Overall, it was a phenomenal night, and I can’t wait to go back.

We had an absolutely incredible experience! From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed into a warm and elegant atmosphere that immediately set the tone for a special evening. We opted for the chef’s tasting menu with wine pairings, and every course was a masterpiece. The attention to detail, the quality of ingredients, and the perfectly curated wine selections made for an unforgettable culinary journey. Each pairing elevated the flavors beautifully, showcasing the expertise behind both the kitchen and the wine list. Adding to the atmosphere of the evening was the live jazz, which created a sophisticated yet relaxed ambiance. It was the perfect backdrop for a night of great food, wine, and conversation. We were hosting family from out of town, and they were absolutely blown away by the experience—everything from the service to the setting exceeded our expectations.
