Tempest has been named the country’s #1 new restaurant by readers of USA Today’s travel guide, 10Best. Located on historic Market Street next to sister location, Church and Union Charleston. Tempest features hyper-local, sustainable Coastal Modern-American food, with a seasonal menu curated by Chef Adam Hodgson and Bravo Top Chef Alum Chef Jamie Lynch.
Tempest’s noteworthy raw and roast menu features both chilled and charcoal roasted options, with a variety of meats, fresh produce, and chef curated accompaniments that go beyond the sea, offering a taste for every palate.

                                          Absolutely wonderful Valentine's dinner. Staff was fantastic, food was great, and the restaurant itself was gorgeous. We will definitely be back.

                                          Waitress seamed bothered that we were there Roasted chicken was overcooked and dry Sauce for the steak was super salty Manager did comp the chicken and a round of drinks. My view is that tempest has really fallen off since it opened

                                          Our experience was top tier. This is a wonderful restaurant to have any celebration or even just a date night out. The food was wonderful in presentation and in taste. Our service was top notch and the MOD was very kind and helpful to make our experience one to remember. Definitely come check this place out if you’re in the area, you won’t regret it!

                                          If you’re visiting Charleston and can only pick one restaurant, make it Tempest. It’s hands down my favorite spot in the city, and it never disappoints. It's where I always choose to celebrate birthdays and bring friends and family visiting from out of town. The location couldn’t be better, right in historic downtown across from the City Market. It’s one of those places locals go, so you know it’s legit. What makes Tempest special is that it is more than a meal, it's an experience. Every meal ends with flowers for the ladies and a complimentary brandy tasting, which is such a fun touch. Adam, the manager, is always around, chatting with guests and making sure everyone’s having a great time. The food is absolutely amazing, and always fresh and full of flavor. On this particular visit, our server McKenna went above and beyond. She was so kind and patient with my parents and took extra care with my mom’s severe nut allergy, which meant the world to us. Tempest is a must in Charleston, and whatever you do, don’t skip the s’mores dessert!

                                          We enjoyed a Restaurant Week 3 course menu. Every bite was delicious. Amazing grilled mushrooms, perfectly cooked flounder, remarkable desserts. The staff was very helpful when we needed to make a change to our booking.

                                          It's a beautiful restaurant, we came on restaurant week and everything was good, not the best meal of my life, but solid. I did find the cocktail menu limited. My only wish is the downstairs is so beautiful but was completely empty, I wish they would default to sitting downstairs under the gorgeous stained glass instead of the less exciting upstairs room.
