Terra Mar is one of the great new, and yet undiscovered restaurants in T&C. An easy walk from Seven Stars/Ritz.
Let me start by saying this is a Chef Table Experience - not an “order off the menu and choose what you like.” The Chef, Dennis has already created the menu which you can find online.” He can make minor variations for Gluten/Pork/sesame/nuts, etc; but not for dairy or seafood (come on - we’re on an island).
The concept of a Chef’s Table is to “Leave it to the Chef to showcase his talents and present you with amazing dishes.
At Terra Mar it’s a 7 course experience, paired with wine (if you choose). Yendy, the manager, has meticulously selected just the write wine for each dish.
Our reservation was on Oct 31. There is one seating and it begins at 7. That evening there were only three reservations (3 couples). It was the last day of their summer menu, and they were excited to launch their new Fall menu the next day. The T&C high season begins in mid November.
The “show” is graciously delivered by Dennis and Yendy. They do it all and it’s amazing to watch dishes prepared before your eyes. We had the benefit of being the only guests that evening as the first couple to arrive said they had a dairy allergy and since 7 out of 7 courses were made with butter and other dairy items, they couldn’t stay. The other couple was a no-show despite the reservation made by the hotel concierge. While I may have been disappointed as a restauranteur, they didn’t seemed phased. In fact,out experience was enhanced even further.
This place is going to take off as soon as the area Concierges catch word. The pricing is fixed at $179/per person and $110/per person for the wine pairing.
If you’re planning a trip to T&C make your reservations NOW! This place is sure to be a favorite tourist high-end dining experience for years to come .
