Terroni Adelaide, formerly the York County Courthouse, is a multi-level heritage structure built in 1852. Just inside the doors is the Enoteca with its towering columns, a great spot for cocktails. Beyond is the main dining room, with a sunlit atrium, fireplaces on each end and private rooms all serviced by an open kitchen where our chefs prepare traditional Italian fare. In summer, the secret garden patio opens for al fresco dining in the heart of the city.

Head down to the Cantina Wine Cellar where you will see the original courthouse cells now used to store our Italian wine. The second floor houses the grand Sala da Pranzo and Bar delle Carceri, named after the cells below. Il Covo degli Artisti, our third-floor space is a cosy lounge once home to The Arts and Letters Club where Canadian landscape painters “The Group of Seven” ate and drank in 1909.

    Building is very cool. We were seated at the bar as we wait for our table to be ready. Ordered espresso martini’s and they were good. Bartender was annoyed with us once he found out we were moving to a table. Service was very bad. Food came before our bottle of wine and it took 20min to get our bill. For a $400 bill for 3 people not worth it.

    Great experience at Terroni. Food and vibes were excellent. I would highly recommend the Seafood pasta and Deep Fried Calamari.

    Food was ok, but ambient was horrible. I understand that location is right downtown, but to have people seated downstair where the smells of humidity, and toilet combined makes it impossible to enjoy, is just sad. So if you decide to go make sure you specify where you want to be seated. It felt like we were in a dungeon. Disgusting.

    Been here tons of times and loved it until now. I found the food mediocre this time. 2/3 dishes had very little flavour. The fried calamari had ZERO taste and no sauce? And of course like everything prices have sky rocketed.

    Service was off. Waited for wine after ordering. It didn’t come out in time for apps. Mains took way too long time.

    My daughter and I are here in Toronto for the Eras tour and it is our first time in Toronto. We will definitely be coming back to Terroni on our next trip! Excellent!

    Very good as always! A tiny bit loud however the lively atmosphere is part of the energy! Food was great. Service good. Always a great spot. : )

    Tight table for 2 but otherwise food, service and ambience was great. Table was available on time with no wait.
