Terroni Adelaide, formerly the York County Courthouse, is a multi-level heritage structure built in 1852. Just inside the doors is the Enoteca with its towering columns, a great spot for cocktails. Beyond is the main dining room, with a sunlit atrium, fireplaces on each end and private rooms all serviced by an open kitchen where our chefs prepare traditional Italian fare. In summer, the secret garden patio opens for al fresco dining in the heart of the city.

Head down to the Cantina Wine Cellar where you will see the original courthouse cells now used to store our Italian wine. The second floor houses the grand Sala da Pranzo and Bar delle Carceri, named after the cells below. Il Covo degli Artisti, our third-floor space is a cosy lounge once home to The Arts and Letters Club where Canadian landscape painters “The Group of Seven” ate and drank in 1909.

    Incredible food, and super knowledgeable and friendly server. Reasonable prices, albeit with European portions. Dinner, drinks, and dessert for two people totalled $150 after tip. Only real complaint was the DJ had the music really loud, and some songs felt a little out of place (Nice Italian restaurant with explicit dance club music?)

    We had a very nice evening at Terroni, although the location was fully booked, the staff welcomed us warmly, and the service crew was attentive and dedicated all the time. The food is authentic ( I was born and grew up in Italy ! ) and delicious, the wine selection excellent and the prices are really ok for such a unique location. The athmosphere is lively but not too noisy, I can really recommend !

    Very italian based food. very authentic. the waiters were so sweet and punctual. greeted you and served you work a smile. super friendly about everything

    Our server, Marcos, was the best! Attentive, friendly, and fun! My sister said this was my favourite Birthday I have had :) Fernanda one of the managers, gave us a personal tour of the historical building that included ghost stories. The staff went above and beyond to make me feel special, and the food was amazing as always. 10/10 highly recommend!

    I’ve always gone to the Price Street restaurant but this was the first time for me but not my wife.We went for her breakfast and the place was beautiful and the food was great.My wife had the branzini and I had the seafood pasta which was great too.My grandkids had pizzas and they loved it.From now on the Adelaide spot is the one for us.

    The chef will change absolutely nothing on any meal and when you don’t eat certain things, it makes it difficult to select something. I have been to Terroni many times and I’m starting to see that this lack of flexibility at a table of many makes most not appreciate the mule as much and reduce the value for money. We were also seated upstairs in the reception area, so the vibe that you feel on the main floor was not there. I felt like I was at a wedding, with fold-up wooden tables all around me.

    Food was excellent but kitchen was VERY slow. Don’t think this was the server’s fault, but we waited well over an hour for our main course.
