The Alliance has been a core part of Mill Lane life since 1826 and boasts a rich history and heritage. Now, after a brief period of restoration, the pub has reopened under the management of Hampstead-born brothers Ben and Ed, their childhood friend Adam and Scott Soteriou . The boys have given the beloved local pub a new lease of life, with a brilliant bar offering, relaxed, vibrant spaces and a food menu that shows off pub grub at its best. You could even manage a mini pub crawl between their other Local Pubs The Duke of Hamilton (Hampstead) & The Clifton (St Johns Wood).

    Food was okay. The meat was outstanding but the rest of the roast was not that great. Service was fab

    The flavour of the roast was really good but I think our food had been left under a head light as the Yorkshire puddings were a crispy and the potatoes were chewy, I did mention it to a member of staff and they said they had never had a Yorkshire pudding so they don’t know what it was supposed to be like.

    Quite good but room for improvement. Meal was slightly overdone. Impenetrable crackling, well done yorkshire puds, roasties had that re-heated taste all solved adequately with copious amounts of tasty gravy, so not a problem.

    A great venue, the Sunday roast was amazing (they also cater for vegetarian), the pub is dog friendly… great atmosphere and good service. We will come back.

    Was not aware that dogs were allowed , we were not asked before placing our reservation . Had to ask where our lunch was after at least 20mins . No bottles of house wine only carafes from a box !! Roast beef very chewy , and difficult to cut . Not worth £26 ! Real shame as The Clifton is great , we have never had a bad meal . This is why we came here . But sadly will not be returning .
